Sparta-Flake and Sparta-Guard use polyaspartic because its UV stability, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and fast cure suit residential garages particularly well.
Cost control, levelling and build thickness.
Water-based epoxy provides economical options, while solvent-free Tuff Floor 41 can be installed much thicker to smooth damaged slabs and provide greater impact protection.

Where a slab needs build or levelling, we can use epoxy as the base or mid coat and finish with polyaspartic as the wear layer. That combines epoxy's ability to build thickness with polyaspartic's abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, UV stability and fast return to service.

Is polyaspartic always better than epoxy?
No. Our polyaspartic systems are especially strong for fast cure, UV stability, abrasion resistance and garage wear. Epoxy gives longer working time, economical coating options and can be installed as much thicker self-levelling or quartz systems.
Which is better for a garage exposed to sunlight?
We normally favour polyaspartic where sunlight reaches the floor because it is UV stable and non-yellowing.
Which is better for a damaged or uneven slab?
A thicker self-levelling epoxy can be used to fill and smooth chips, dings and surface damage. We can then use a polyaspartic topcoat as the final wear layer.
Can you combine epoxy and polyaspartic?
Yes. Epoxy can provide build and levelling, while polyaspartic can provide the final abrasion-resistant, chemical-resistant and UV-stable wear surface.
