Why the cheapest m² number isn't always the cheapest job.
Do garage floor projects have a minimum charge?
For smaller coating projects, a minimum charge may apply from $3,500 + GST depending on the system and process required. We prefer to show the actual system and preparation rather than pretend every garage has the same minimum.
What is included in standard preparation?
Standard preparation means normal diamond grinding of accessible concrete and thorough vacuuming before coating. Repairs, coating removal, floor-covering removal, levelling, contamination removal and moisture treatment are additional where required.
Does a moisture barrier replace the normal primer?
For the coating builds described here, where a moisture barrier is required it normally replaces the standard primer rather than being added on top of it.
Why can floor-covering removal cost extra?
Tiles, carpet, timber, vinyl and their adhesives can take substantial time and mechanical preparation to remove before the concrete is ready for a resin or polished finish.
Why can two garages of the same size cost different amounts?
The existing slab matters. Moisture, damage, cracks, old coatings, adhesive, unevenness, access and the chosen finish can all change the amount of labour, tooling and resin required.
