Garage floor moisture barrier Auckland

Moisture can push a good coating off a bad slab condition.

If moisture is moving through the concrete, ignoring it to save a day is false economy.

What we do

Assess the floor, then build moisture treatment into the system where required.

After grinding, repairing and vacuuming, an epoxy moisture barrier can be applied before the coloured or decorative resin system. Where it is required, the moisture barrier replaces the normal primer.

Typical moisture barrier component$40/m² + GSTwhere requiredTypical programme impact+1 daybefore the remaining coating build
Why it changes the quote

It adds both material and another mobilisation day.

A 36m² Sparta-Flake garage with standard preparation is about $3,780 + GST by rate. Add a $40/m² moisture barrier and the rate-based total becomes about $5,220 + GST before unusual repairs or removal work. That is why we test moisture rather than advertise one flat garage price for every slab.

Moisture FAQ

Don't guess what is happening under the coating.

Does every garage need a moisture barrier?

No. We test the concrete with a moisture meter. If the slab does not need a moisture barrier, we do not recommend one; if it does, we explain why and price it separately.

How much does a moisture barrier cost?

The normal component rate is around $40/m² + GST when it is part of the coating system. Smaller jobs may be priced higher.

Does a moisture barrier add time?

Yes. It normally adds another process day before the decorative or performance coating system is completed.
