Garage floor crack and spall repairs Auckland

Repair first. Coat second.

A resin coating is not a structural bandage. Defects need to be treated as part of the substrate preparation.

Our normal repair approach

Low-viscosity polyurea, then grind it flush.

Cracks, joints and spalls are commonly repaired with a fast-cure high-strength polyurea resin. Its low viscosity allows penetration into irregularities in the sides of cracks, helping create a mechanical key rather than simply bridging the top.

After cure

The repair becomes part of the prepared floor.

Once cured, repairs are diamond ground smooth and the slab is thoroughly vacuumed. From there the moisture barrier, primer or coating system can proceed.

Finish choice matters

Some systems disguise repairs better than others.

Sparta-Flake's decorative pattern can visually hide repair lines and substrate variation. Solid-colour coatings show more of the underlying plane. Polished concrete intentionally exposes the slab, so patches and repairs can remain part of the finished appearance.

Repair FAQ

What repairs can and can't do.

Can cracks be made invisible?

Not always. Repairs can be stabilised, filled and ground smooth, but substrate movement, colour differences and the finish selected can still leave visual evidence. Decorative flake tends to disguise repairs better than plain coatings or polished concrete.

What repair resin do you normally use?

Floor Masters commonly uses a fast-cure, high-strength, very low-viscosity polyurea repair resin for cracks, joints and spalls, selected to penetrate and mechanically key into the concrete.
